Watch the Lamb

This song tells from the perspective of a man named Simon who came from Cyrene. He had two sons name Alexander and Rufus (Mark 15:21). According to the story of this song, the father and the sons were going to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover, a celebration that reminded them that God had saved the Israelites from the Egyptians. The lamb that they carried was supposed to be sacrificed. According to the Bible, when Adam and Eve disobeyed God and sinned, they lost the gift of eternal life. There was no way where they could undo their disobedience. However, God told them that a Savior would come to redeem their sins so that men can have the eternal life again. God told Adam and Eve to sacrifice a lamb so that their sins are pardoned. This lamb was a symbol that one day when the Savior came to this earth, He would also be sacrificed so that our sins are forgiven and that we will have the opportunity to live forever in Heaven. This Savior is Christ. He came to the earth and He was crucified on the cross and was resurrected. Since then, human will no longer need to sacrifice a lamb because Jesus has taken the place as a sacrificial lamb. When we sinned, we go to Jesus to ask for forgiveness.
