Choice

"If serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served... or the gods... in whose land you are living.
But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."

In our life will be a time when we have to decide to serve the Lord or to the world. Sound easy. But I begin to realize that the decisions we made will become what we are in the future. Little by little, without realization it is either we are close to God or close to the worldly.
Ones achievement where many behold actually require much sacrifices and compromises. Say, you are a top international sportman, many things are need to give in and give up. Everyday practices... how about a day--Sabbath day off?? Your manager will not allow you to, so you have to practice everyday to win the game. Studies. Due to time to practice for competition, there is no time to study, hence no degree. But you have the money, parents' pride, countrymen's pride and perhaps reputation.
If you are a top student, you don't just become. You have studied hard. You followed the teachers' order. Your principle is compromised because of the theory that you don't agree yet have to memorize. You can't argue because teachers will not be happy if you do. You compromise. Choice is made.
Or say, you are to chosen to be an international singer. Your songs are based on the manager's choice. Contracts you have signed. The people you have to pleased. Nothing comes easy. Efforts have to be put in. Decisions have to be made. Not wrong to be super top, but then when you actually seriously choose to serve the Lord...I wonder what will happen...no orders from the Bible to follow men... but only God.
When one drifted away from God, one will know it. One knows that one has to go back to God. One knows that one has to do something. But what can one do?? Choice has made, things have done. There is a turning, but may need a lot of effort. Unlike the past, once you have step into the water, your feet will be wet. Effort is needed to dry it. People may think you are crazy. The water is cool to dip in. Many people is running into the pool. But no one knows the water is concentrated with chemicals. Legs burned. Turning point?? Remove the leg from the water, decontaminate the leg, treat the leg. Time is needed to treat the leg. Choice one make will create consequence.
What we are are what we had choose to be. Rich or poor is not by fate. There is no fate. There is effort. One is smart, is because one is sober and discipline. One is stupid, is because one watch too much entertainment drama, drink alcohol and smoke weed.
Life without goal is failure. Failure happens because one choose it to happen. Success comes because one works hard and thinks hard. One works hard but does not think hard will always be a subordinate. One who tries hard to make everybody happy has no sense of direction in life. One who compromise has no principle. One who choose to seize every opportunities that comes is a happy and blessed person.
Choice is in our hand. We are what we chose.
